Hi, I'm Jessykia Dolan

I am a photographer and filmmaker. I'm a happy person who looks on the bright side of most situations. I'm laid back, patient, kind and goofy, which is useful when making clients laugh or getting everyone to have a great time including getting comfortable during variety of sessions.

I was raised in northern Ontario who currently residing in Calgary, Alberta. I also visit Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan regularly.

I spend my free time exploring new restaurants or spending time with my dog (a Border Collie). I love spending time with my family and friends. I thrive on hiking, and kayaking… anything that screams adventure, you can count me in! I love to travel, and to see the world. I want to experience different cultures along with different lifestyles and explore different environments. I’ve always had an innate love of creativity. Growing up, I experimented with different art forms and mediums - painting, drawing, dance, anything I could do to create and let my imagination become tangible. I remember the first time I watched my first photograph develop right before my eyes in the tiny darkroom of my high school. I was immediately fascinated and it opened up a whole new world for me.

My Story

I started up ‘Dolan Photos’ back in 2022, but I have been behind the scene when I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014. This is where my obsession started with capturing moments and places. I use my Camera as a means of self-expression. My goal is to use my camera like Alice’s rabbit hole, to open an unexplored world, a place of curious self-expression, story telling but also a world of new relationships, new chances, new beginnings and most importantly new stories.

Escapism &  Dreamscapes are my inspiration

I get excited holding my camera up to my eye. I feel ecstatic when I click the button. I am overjoyed when I see the final copy, this gives me peace to my craziness of my days.

I love being a part of someone’s life and able to celebrate big milestones that they cannot relive again and capture a permanent memory.

I love that I have the power to manipulate and show life in its truest form. These photos will allow my creativity to shine through.

I want to make an impact on people’s life for the better. Show them the beauty that I see.
