Hi, I'm Jessykia Dolan
As a photographer and filmmaker, I bring a passion for storytelling and a love for capturing the beauty of the world around us. With a warm and approachable demeanor, I make my clients feel at ease, ensuring that their session is not only enjoyable but also produces stunning results.
Originally from northern Ontario, I now call Rocky Mountain House, Alberta home, with regular visits to Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan. My roots in the great outdoors have instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and a sense of adventure. I thrive on exploring new destinations, from the majestic mountains to serene coastlines, and everything in between.
When not behind the camera, I enjoy exploring the culinary scene, spending time with my Border Collie, and connecting with loved ones. As an avid hiker and kayaker, I'm always up for a challenge and love experiencing different cultures and lifestyles. My innate creativity has led me to experiment with various art forms, including painting, drawing, and dance.
My journey into photography began with a chance discovery in high school, watching my first photograph develop in a darkroom. This sparked a lifelong passion for capturing the world through the lens of a camera. I'm committed to using my skills to tell compelling stories that showcase the beauty of our world and the people within it.
My Story
I started up ‘Dolan Photos’ back in 2022, but I have been behind the scene when I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014. This is where my obsession started with capturing moments and places. I use my Camera as a means of self-expression. My goal is to use my camera like Alice’s rabbit hole, to open an unexplored world, a place of curious self-expression, story telling but also a world of new relationships, new chances, new beginnings and most importantly new stories.
Escapism & Dreamscapes are my inspiration
I get excited holding my camera up to my eye. I feel ecstatic when I click the button. I am overjoyed when I see the final copy, this gives me peace to my craziness of my days.
I love being a part of someone’s life and able to celebrate big milestones that they cannot relive again and capture a permanent memory.
I love that I have the power to manipulate and show life in its truest form. These photos will allow my creativity to shine through.
